With funding from the Walton Foundation, CYCLE Kids gave each of the three schools in the rural Jasper School District their own CYCLE Kids program.

Students learned about about gear shifting, braking, and riding a bike safely, along with the importance of healthy nutrition.  At one of the schools, some parents had trouble finding the time to complete the CYCLE Kids take-home activities with their children, so their kids began reading to their parents while they cooked dinner or did the dishes. This nightly ritual became a fun way for the families to connect and learn about creating a healthy lifestyle together.

My students are super excited to share what they’ve learned. While parents are preparing dinner, students read to them from the CYCLE Kids textbook, and they do the homework together.
