Dear Friend,
As we begin the Spring season and warm days commence, I know we are all dreaming of being outside running in shorts, hiking with our families, or just walking our dogs. Maybe it’s a time when you also remember your first bike?
Our mission at CYCLE Kids is to give low-income, inner-city children their first experience with riding a bike in an attempt to educate children on how to live a healthy lifestyle. The program is taught in physical education classes for 4th – 6th grade students. In the CYCLE Kids classes, children learn new skills, make new friends, and gain confidence and self-esteem that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
On average it costs $2,300 per school to provide them with the needed bicycles and helmets for the program. This is a rather large hurdle for a school, so CYCLE Kids is raising the funds so we can provide mini-equipment-grants to schools.
Last year, thanks to the generosity of friends like you, CYCLE Kids was able to bring our program to more than 300 low-income and inner-city children in the greater Boston area of Massachusetts, and the Harlem neighborhoods of New York City.
Our goal this year is to reach 1,500 inner-city children, adding the city of Chicago to our list of cities offering our program. We are already 250 children closer to reaching our goal! There is still a lot of work ahead!
To succeed, we need your support.
Your gift of $25, $50 or $100 will go a long way to helping us reach these children. A gift of $200 will purchase one bicycle we can give to a school, a gift of $375 will give a school 25 helmets, a gift of $2,500 will provide a school with all the tools they need to get started. – Your help will mean so much.
Please consider making a gift today.
Thank you for your continued support of CYCLE Kids. Your generosity will have a lasting impact on the health and well-being of a child!
Sincerely,

Julianne Idlet
