Julianne Idlet
Founder, Executive Director

Julianne Idlet has worked for more than 20 years in the business world primarily focusing on implementation and development of marketing departments and programs for start-up companies. Her experience includes developing and implementing strategic business plans, leading organizational transformation, and cultivating and growing effective leadership and team networks. She holds a BS in Marketing from Boston College. Julie is on the coaching staff of the Harvard Cycling Team, focusing her efforts on new riders to encourage and motivate them to reach their highest levels of performance. She is known for her supportive and enthusiastic encouragement, which has been integral to the team’s success.

Julie is an avid cyclist who began riding a bicycle at a very young age. Her vision for CYCLE Kids developed from a desire to share her passion and excitement for cycling with children, coupled with her concern about childhood obesity and the decline in health and fitness of children in the U.S.


Lynn Cadwallader

Curriculum and Educational Program Development

Lynn Cadwallader is an educator and producer/director who consults with a variety of educational organizations, non-profits, and museums in both the U.S. and the United Kingdom. At WBGH-TV, she was associate director of Educational Programming, acting as senior or executive producer on nationally distributed award-winning productions, including Race to Save the Planet school videos, Machine that Changed the World school videos, Science First Hand and Teaching Math: A Video Library ($4.6 mil. budget). Formerly head of the Education Program at the Massachusetts Cultural Council, she was responsible for $5 million covering 120 annual grants that linked arts, history, and science organizations with schools and community groups. She also started and ran an independent junior and senior high school. A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, she has a master’s degree and a doctorate from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst and is currently on the faculty of Lesley University. She is the recipient of more than 45 grants and awards from the National Science Foundation, Polaroid, Bank of New England, National Endowment for the Arts, National Archives, California Council for the Humanities, Cabot Trust, and Annenberg-CPB project. She is a board member of Independent Broadcasting Associates, and was a gubernatorial appointee to the North Shore Community College Advisory Board.


Janet Curtis

Fund Development and Communications

Janet Curtis has worked in the nonprofit sector for more than ten years primarily focusing on natural resource protection, community greening, parks, and recreation. Her experience includes fundraising, capital campaigns, organizational capacity building, board development, community organizing, and communications. Janet has worked for distinguished conservation organizations including the California-based Peninsula Open Space Trust and more recently the Trust for Public Land, where she provided technical assistance to establish and build the capacity of local land trusts in California and Hawaii. Currently, she is a development officer at The University of Vermont and is pursuing graduate study in public administration.

She holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a MA in Landscape Design and Planning from the Conway School of Landscape Design. Janet is an enthusiastic recreational cyclist and has participated in many rides benefiting nonprofit organizations, most notably, the California AIDS Ride—a 600-mile journey from San Francisco to Los Angeles.


Jim Gardner

Business Development

Jim Gardner brings 20 years of management experience to Cycle Kids. He earned an MBA from Yale University in 1984, and worked as a management consultant to venture capital and Fortune 500 companies for 12 years. In 1998 he became part of the senior management team which formed and took public Dispatch Management Services Corp, a global courier and logistics company, serving as President of its largest division. He also founded and ran his own professional services company for 5 years, selling the firm in 2004. Jim is an avid cyclist with the CCB Racing club in Topsfield, MA, and in 1996 was the Massachusetts state Cat. 4 road race champion.


Graham Jones

Program Development

After three decades of corporate experience both in Europe and the USA, Graham now heads up his own sales and marketing consulting business—Chartwell Kent and Associates in North Andover, MA. Chartwell Kent focuses on business development that includes market research and analysis, creation of sales and marketing plans, and development and implementation of sales and marketing programs.

An avid racing cyclist, Graham has raced in Europe as a professional and now belongs to the local CCB racing club. He has great passion for cycling and promoting healthy living, especially among children.
